Following the ignition of Danling Sifang Porcelain's large slab/rock slab production line on February 27, two more rock slab production lines were added to the Sichuan area. So far, Sichuan has Emeishan Jintao, Jianyou, Shengshi Dongfang, Huaxing, Sifang, Guangle, Meishan Kaifeng, Jianzhong and many other ceramic companies with slate production capabilities.

On April 18, the 4.0 intelligent slate production line of Guangle Building Ceramics Group was ignited. The production line integrates Zhongpeng 4.0 intelligent kiln, Henlitai 16890 large-tonnage press, Hope 10-channel inkjet machine, and Keda CNC intelligent Advanced production equipment in polishing lines and other industries.

After the slate line is officially put into operation, it will produce large-size slates such as 900×1800mm, 800×2600mm, 1200×2400mm, etc., with a daily production capacity of 12,000 square meters per day.
On April 7, the Meishan Kaifeng slate intelligent production line constructed by Litai Brand was ignited. The production line is equipped with Henlitai 10,000-ton press and Delitai's "4.0 Energy Efficiency Benchmark Digital Intelligence Era" high-end intelligent slate/ Special large slab firing kiln, mainly produces 1000×2000×9mm rock slab/large slab products, with a daily production capacity of 14,000 m2/day.

The enthusiasm for rock slab construction in Sichuan has not faded away. Currently, Yanboshi, a high-end slate project invested and constructed by Xingtaihe Ceramics, is under intense construction. It is reported that Yanboshi's first slate production line will be completed and put into operation in August this year, and the second phase production line will start construction at the end of the year; Shengshi Dongfang is transforming an ordinary product production line into a slate production line.

On April 8, the China Building and Sanitary Ceramics Association conducted an on-site inspection and review of Jiajiang’s declaration as a China (Western) slate production base. "Ceramic Information" learned on the spot that as of the end of March 2021, in Jiajiang County, Sichuan alone, there were 5 ceramic companies with slate production capabilities, and a total of 9 slate production lines had been built, including 1 Milano Group Huaxing Ceramics, There are 4 lines of Shengshi Oriental Ceramics, 2 lines of Jianyou Ceramics, 1 line of Zhufeng Ceramics, and 1 line of Jianhui Ceramics, covering more than ten specifications such as 600×1200mm-1600×3200mm and multiple thicknesses of 3-20mm.

In addition, Sofia Ceramics, Jianxiang Ceramics, Huahong Ceramics, Kangrong Ceramics and other companies have planned to build new slate production lines. After all are completed, the number of Jiajiang slate production companies alone will increase to 11, with more than 20 production lines! If all the above plans are realized, there will be more than 30 rock slab production lines in Sichuan Province.

Since 2017, Sichuan production areas represented by Jiajiang have achieved overtaking in corners under industrial adjustment policies such as "coal to gas", retreating from cities and entering parks, and retained high-quality enterprises, quality and brand awareness. To improve, a large number of enterprises have comprehensively renovated and built the most advanced production lines in the country, and the pace of product innovation has kept pace with the domestic cutting-edge trends.
“In the past, the production lines of many enterprises were ‘three years for the new, three years for the old, and another three years for repairs.’ But now it is different. Many old production lines are directly dismantled and built.”

According to local industry insiders, a key factor in the improvement of product quality in Sichuan is that Sichuan is located in a natural gas source and has gas advantages that other production areas cannot match.

Not only is the supply sufficient, but the price of energy such as natural gas and electricity in Sichuan also has an absolute advantage among major production areas in the country.
According to data from relevant gas companies in Jiajiang County, the average price of natural gas actually used by ceramic companies in Jiajiang County in 2020 was 1.95 yuan/m³. Jiajiang County implements tiered gas prices. The greater the gas consumption, the lower the gas price, which can be as low as 1.75 yuan/m³. Danling, which is adjacent to Jiajiang, has a more prominent gas source advantage and lower gas prices.
Therefore, after the large-scale switch to natural gas across the country, the advantages of Sichuan have been continuously highlighted. At the same time, the rapid economic development in the western region has unleashed huge market demand, especially the developed furniture and bathroom cabinet industries in Chengdu, which has given the cross-border product slate slabs significant development potential.
