The ship was designed by China Shipbuilding Corporation Hudong Zhonghua. The ship has a total length of 399.99 meters, a molded width of 61.5 meters, and a molded depth of 33.2 meters. It is classified by DNV classification society. The ship's deck area is close to four standard football fields. The maximum number of container stacks can reach 25, which is equivalent to the height of a 22-story building. It can load 24,116 containers. It is currently the largest container ship type in the world.
The ship is also equipped with a hybrid desulfurization device and adopts a new green, environmentally friendly, energy-efficient and safe design. Its small bulbous bow scheme, large-diameter propellers and energy-saving ducts help To further develop the ship's fast and fuel-saving performance.
It is understood that this ship is the fastest and best one in the series of box ships built by Jiangnan Shipbuilding so far. While continuing the construction rhythm of the container ship "844", the construction team realized the practical application of the "perfect compartment" theory and further improved the three "integrated" construction models previously applied to the 24,000TEU ultra-large container ship.
The construction team made full use of the characteristics of compartment segmentation manufacturing and horizontal placement in the general assembly stage to improve the integrity of the compartment shell outfitting within a limited period, further shortening the dock and wharf cycle. After loading, the high-altitude operations on board the ship were reduced by 50%, the hands in the cargo hold area were reduced by 70%, and the cargo hold painting cycle was shortened by 13 days. The integration of the ship box cover lashing enables the hatch cover to be put on the ship at one time; the integration of the ship's engine propeller shaft and rudder enables shaft-mounted propellers before floating; the integration of the OTS of the ship pier box shaft makes the floating centering accuracy of the giant section more refined.
"844" is the goal of Jiangnan Shipbuilding's "8-month segmented production cycle, 4-month dock cycle, and 4-month terminal cycle" for Jiangnan Shipbuilding's 24,000-unit ultra-large container ship. Relying on technological progress, the ship, as the first ship to be built, still achieved the refueling of the main oil tank before undocking, completed the tilt test within 55 days after undocking, and completed all paint construction before sea trials to reach the delivery status, etc., which laid the foundation for the dual-line rhythm of subsequent box ships. It is reported that the No. 2 ship in this series is currently undergoing mooring tests at the dock and is scheduled to undergo a trial voyage in May this year. The No. 3 ship is scheduled to be undocking in April.
